Day 5: Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave & Jungle Adventure (B,L) (Guided Tour)
Enjoy an adventurous cave / river trip to see ancient Mayan ritual sites where artifacts remain. Guests transfer to the trailhead at the edge of the Tapir Reserve and then embark on a jungle trek to the cave mouth. Chance to see interesting birds and rainforest animals along the trek. Once at the cave we done helmets and torches and enter the river cave – wading and walking we explore this beautiful cave with a plethora of stalagmites and stalactites as well as fascinating pottery and even human remains from ancient times when the cave was used as a ritual site.
